Booking the Choir

How to Book the Choir

Should you wish to organise a concert by the Derbyshire Constabulary Male Voice Choir you would be responsible for:

  • Identifying a suitable venue capable of holding a minimum audience of 80-100 people, together with a stage or area large enough for a 30 strong choir.
  • Churches, church halls, community halls, school halls, etc are the most popular venues. A secure changing room for use by the choir should be available.
  • Providing a normal type piano at the venue (a good quality electric piano may be suitable).
  • Arranging your own publicity, ticket sales, etc.

There is a charge of £50 for each concert the choir performs. The choir appreciates that those we entertain work hard to raise money for their causes and charities but the time has come when we must make this small charge. We also wish to continue taking a retiring collection.

The choir season runs from 1 October to 30 April each year.

Concerts are held on Friday evenings commencing at 7.45pm. Only in exceptional circumstances are concerts held on Saturday evening eg. distance for the choir to travel or the venue is not available on a Friday. Any preferred dates should be included in the application otherwise a date will be allocated.

The full season's programme of concerts commencing in October is decided by the choir committee who meet during June each year.

Requests for concerts should be made on the booking form and posted to the DCMVC Secretary.
