The choir began its 17-18 season with a concert at Repton, where local PCSO Kerry Wallington-Waite (pictured) was welcomed. She chatted with the audience at the beginning of the evening.
Local community concerts continue to provide an opportunity for local SNT officers to meet members of the local community.
Members of the choir delivered a short programme of their more contemporary songs at Duffield Arts Festival, and most recently a number of choristers attended the bi-annual Memorial Service in the Garden of Remembrance at HQ. They also welcomed a new member, Sean Powell, who has previously sung with Pye Hill and District MVC.

mvc-may-17The 16-17 season finally came to an end with a surprise performance for retiring Chief Constable Mick Creedon, featuring some of his favourite songs including “I Fought The Law”, “Desperado” Adele’s “Someone Like You” and Bruce Springsteen’s “Born To Run”.

With over 30 years’ service to the choir, Alma Clark has finally relinquished her role as choir seamstress with the last remaining stock of uniforms having been removed from her home recently.

choir-oct15We've got off to a flying start this year having already performed in two concerts – both of which were 60th Anniversary celebrations – and taken part in the Constabulary Memorial Service. Further details of are contained within the October newsletter.
Diamond pin badgeThe choir will resume rehearsals on 7th September in preparation for a very busy season.
We will be supporting the constabulary at a memorial service on 20th September; carol service on 21st December and an awards evening in April 2016.
In addition the choir will perform 26 charity concerts and events throughout Derbyshire raising thousands of pounds for local charities and good causes.

In the new season, commencing at the end of September, we have set ourselves an ambitious fund raising target and hope to be able to donate a significant sum to our two nominated charities SAFE & SOUND (Derby) and East Midlands Air Ambulance.
