Police Officer Transferees

As well as our usual police officer recruitment process, we offer the opportunity for existing police officers to switch to our force.

We currently have three areas open to transferees. These are outlined below. Click on the link below each vacancy to view the full details.

Police Constable Transferees

Officers applying for this role must have current or recent operational experience.

We're looking for experienced serving police constables who have a passion for serving the communities of Derbyshire. Applicants must have passed their probationary period, have a full driving licence, be able to pass the necessary vetting and occupational health checks, pass the basic fitness test - shuttle run (bleep test) to level 5.4 or above - and have no outstanding discipline or integrity issues.

As well as applications from officers currently serving in Home Office Forces, we are able to consider applications from serving officers with a non-Home Office force through shortlisting and to interview in the first instance. At that stage, if successful at interview, we will carefully consider the officer’s training record and what additional training would be required on appointment. We will also take into account if we are able to provide the required training.

Based on the Officer’s training record we will also need to consider what roles are available to the applicant and cannot, at the early stages of the application, guarantee that an offer will be made or that an offer will be made within a  specific timeframe. This will depend on the training etc. of the individual applicant.
