Police Cadet Support Volunteer

The Derbyshire Volunteer Police Cadet Scheme has Cohorts in Derby, Chesterfield and Glossop. It is currently aimed at 13-18 year olds who are keen to be involved in a police-orientated youth group.

The aim of the scheme are to give young people an insight into the many and varied aspects of policing, to make them aware of the role of the police in society, to develop their character, and to promote good citizenship.

Derbyshire Constabulary require your help as a volunteer to expand the Cadet Scheme Forcewide, supporting the Cadet Scheme coordinator this is an excellent opportunity to help with the training and development of the cadets and become involved in community events.

What does this activity involve?

Assisting and supporting the section inspectors to expand the cadet scheme. Liaising with the outside agencies and partners involving the cadets in events around the force area.

Using IT applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word to write letters and reports. Helping assist where possible with the training and mentoring of the cadets.

Skills Required

Written communication along with speaking to people on the telephone in a professional manner is required. You should have basic It skills, but will receive training on any systems required.

Location

Derby, Chesterfield & Glossop.

Core Hours

Daytime or evenings.
