The Buxton Division is responsible for policing the rich heritage and beautiful natural backdrop covered by the Derbyshire Dales and High Peak areas of Derbyshire.
A predominately rural community, home to the spectacular Peak District Natural Park, with Buxton and Glossop towns having populations in excess of 20,000 people, it goes into 2011 on a firm foundation of successive years of crime reduction and a strong detection rate.
The division prides itself on its relationships with its partners and the community it serves, who have when consulted, indicated that they have the highest satisfaction rates as to how the police deal with crime and anti-social behaviour and for feelings of being safe within their neighbourhood.
Our goal is to manage the potential implications for the financial challenges ahead and to maintain a strong local policing presence, which is known for responding and delivering a high quality policing service.
If we fall short of this, please let us know through our locally held Area Forums or Key Individual Networks.
