Police are reminding people to be on their guard after cars and a shed were targeted by thieves in the village of Hilcote.
Some time between 10.30pm on Wednesday, January 11 and 7am on Thursday 12 a Toyota Corolla parked outside a house on New Lane was stolen.
Between 6pm on Tuesday, January 10 and 11.30am on Wednesday 11, thieves stole tools from the boot of an insecure car parked on a driveway on Oak Tree Road. Damage was also caused to the ignition system.
A shed was also broken into on Oak Tree Road overnight between 6pm on Tuesday 10, and 10am on Wednesday 11, but nothing was stolen.
A car parked on New Street was broken into between 3am and 4.40am on Wednesday 11, and a small amount of cash was stolen. Damage was again caused to the ignition system.
Sgt Matt Troth, who is in charge of the area’s Safer Neighbourhood team, said: “These are isolated incidents but I want to remind residents to ensure they are security conscious at all times.
“Make sure cars are locked and all valuables are removed. Park them on a driveway or garage where possible and if not on a well lit street.
“Local officers have increased their patrols in the area to reassure the community and speak to residents about any concerns they have.”
