Bramley Vale residents get crime prevention advice

Posted on 23rd January 2012

Residents in a Bolsover village have been visited by their local police to help them protect their property from burglars.

Officers from the Glapwell Safer Neighbourhood Team visited houses in the Bramley Vale area to offer crime prevention advice and property marking.

They also signed residents up to Derbyshire Constabulary’s Community Messaging Service which is used to circulate information rapidly and keep members of the community informed of crimes in their area and current events.

PC Tony Bagshaw said: “We offered residents face to face advice on security for their homes and postcoding of their property with UV pens, which helps police trace items if they are stolen.

“If you have any concerns or would like a visit from the team feel free to contact us on the non-emergency number or stop us as we are patrolling the village.”

Residents are also invited to a Community Panel Meeting at the Glapwell Centre, The Green from 7pm on Tuesday, January 24.

Those attending can help set the priority issues local officers will tackle in the coming months.
