Drop-in day for Chesterfield shoppers

Posted on 31st January 2012

Community police will be joined by the council and youth workers for a drop-in day for Chesterfield shoppers to get advice and find out what’s happening in their area.

Officers from the Chesterfield Town Centre Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) have set up the community day to allow people of all ages to get information on topics from careers to reducing energy bills.

Representatives from Chesterfield College will have information about courses and the Youth Service will be able to offer advice to teenagers.

There will also be information on energy management and the Handy Man Service run by Chesterfield Borough Council.

The drop-in will be held at the empty unit in The Pavements shopping centre on Thursday, February 16 from 10am to 2pm.

PCSO Paul Smith, who has organised the event, said: “We are holding it during half-term so we get a range of people from all age groups.

“It is a very informal day and people can come and chat to us about any issues they have, pick up some advice and find out what all the different agencies are doing in their area.”
