This Safer Neighbourhood area covers Whittington and Barrow Hill. It belongs to the Chesterfield policing section.Barrow Hill is a small semi-rural residential area located within Chesterfield Borough Council and situated approximately four miles from Chesterfield Town Centre. Whittington is split into two villages - Old and New. There is a large recreational area separating both Old and New Whittington that includes a skate park and five-aside football pitch. Old Whittington contains several buildings of historical interest.

Nuisance off-road bikes throughout Old Whittington, New Whittington and Barrow Hill.

Actions to be taken are as follows:
  • Regular patrols to key areas and those places where reports come in of nuisance off road bikes being used.
  • Residents are encouraged to contact police to report any incidents or information they may thing is relevant.
  • Community Speed Watch checks to be carried out in any particular hot spot areas.
  • Officers to work closely with partnership agencies to take a joint approach in finding longer term solutions to issues of anti-social behaviour which are affecting the community.

Anti-social behaviour and underage drinking at Brearley Park, Old Whittington

Actions to be taken are as follows:
  • Visited off licences and reminded the staff and management of their responsibilities around the sale of alcohol.
  • Worked with the council to arrange diversionary activities for the youngsters and a professional graffiti artist to work on the youth centre.
  • Carried out high visibility patrols of the area in the evenings and throughout weekends to identify those responsible.

Tackling anti-social behaviour on the park area Station Road, Barrow Hill

  • Police officers, PCSOs and Special Constables carried out increased patrols of the area.
  • Engaged with local residents to find the extent of the problem and identify peak times.
