Police are appealing for information following the theft of three high value remote control helicopters in Derby.
The theft took place between mid December 2012 when the owner last saw them and Monday, March 4 when the owner discovered the loss.
Access was gained to a garage on Burlington Road in Mackworth where three high value nitro powered helicopters were stored.
The helicopters are Trex and Century models and unique as the engines can only run on nitro liquid and not petrol so would have to be maintained by a specialist model builder or shop.
PC Kris Sekhar from the Mackworth and Morley Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "We are appealing for any information surrounding these thefts. It may be that someone has received one of these helicopters as a Christmas present or purchased one for someone as a present.”
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to please contact Mackworth and Morley Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team on: 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting crime ref: 8666/13.
