Stockbrook officers resolve nuisance bike issue

Posted on 2nd February 2012

Officer's from Stockbrook Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out a plain clothes operation in the neighbourhood last week due to complaints from residents regarding a nuisance motorbike.

In response to the calls, local officers patrolled the area and on Monday, February 30, a local youth was detained on Stockbrook park and a nuisance bike was seized.

Enquiries revealed that the motorbike was reported stolen on January 27 from the local area and the rider's disruptive use was the reason for a number of complaints from the public.

PC Rich Barker from the Stockbrook team said: "Due to the complaints we had received over the weekend we decided to carry out plain clothed patrols in the area. On Monday evening we saw a group of youths on Stockbrook park pushing a motorbike, as we got close the group dispersed but we detained one of them.

"We have seized the bike and have hopefully solved the problem. We urge local residents to contact us if they are suffering from anti-social behaviour or crime and we will work with them to solve the problem."
