Young children have been learning more about local police and their role in the community during a visit to Alfreton Police Station.
Officers from Alfreton Town’s Safer Neighbourhood Team welcomed the youngsters, accompanied by their child-minders, on Monday, February 16.
The children, aged between two and eight years old, met local officers and had a tour of the station and a police car.
PCSO Chris Hart from the team said: “One of the child-minders contacted officers and asked if it would be possible to arrange a visit to the station, as the children were learning about how various local public services support the community.
“We were delighted to welcome the youngsters who enjoyed the tour and asked lots of questions. It was great to meet younger members of the community, teach them about our role and what we do to look after their area.”
