Colouring competition runners up from Heanor and Loscoe receive their Derby Police Experience prize

A girl from Heanor and a girl from Loscoe have picked up their prizes from their local Safer Neighbourhood policing team after entering a competition at the Police Experience.

The youngsters were drawn as runners up out of dozens of entries in the children’s colouring competition after the event at Derby Market Place in June.

Six-year-old Grace Austin Mellor of Loscoe and six-year-old Isabelle Brailsford of Heanor each collected their bag of sweets and goodies on Thursday, July 31 from PCs Dan Quick and Sarah Allcock.

The Police Experience, which was part of Inspiring Derby week, involved a number of police officers and police staff from different areas displaying their work and providing information on policing in Derbyshire.

It also included a number of children’s activities and competitions, with prizes kindly donated by local firms.

Prizes have already been presented to the winner of the colouring competition, a nine-year-old boy from Burton-on Trent, and to an 11-year-old girl from Derby who won the Spot the Thingamabob competition.
