Posted on 14th May 2015

Police have been teaming up to make local roads safer by tackling speeding and unsafe vehicles in Quarndon and Weston Underwood.

Officers from the Quarndon and Kirk Langley Safer Neighbourhood Team worked alongside Weston Underwood Parish Council to carry out safety checks to highlight the importance of safe and considerate driving.

Following the checks on Wednesday, April 29, five drivers were stopped and issued with tickets after they were found to be exceeding the set speed limit.

One of the speeding motorists was also found to have defected tyres and was strongly advised about the dangers that vehicle defects can cause, along with being issued with a fixed penalty notice.
