A new face has joined the Safer Neighbourhood policing team which covers the Heanor, Loscoe, Shipley, Smalley and Horsley areas.
PC Dave Norcross has been a police officer for more than 16 years, working on different response teams during his policing career in the Bolsover and Ripley areas, as well as on the Safer Neighbourhood policing team in Shirebrook.
Before joining Derbyshire Constabulary, Dave was a Freight Forwarding Manager at East Midlands Airport, and helped to coordinate the transportation of large orders and stock from major companies in the area.
He said: “Neighbourhood policing is very different to response policing, and I’m really enjoying getting to know the community, liaising with them and working to target issues affecting our local residents.
“We have a great team here; we’re based at Heanor but also responsible for covering the surrounding villages and rural areas. Please contact us if you have any concerns or issues you think we could help with, and feel free to stop us and say hello if you see us out and about.”
PC Norcross takes over from PC Teresa Kay, who has now moved to a different role in the area.
The team now consists of PCs Garry Statham and David Norcross, and PCSOs Thomas Shale, Jenifer Lorimer and Rio Lyons.
