Alcohol seized during police and partnership patrols at Pinxton fair

Alcohol has been seized by police during joint partnership patrols of a local fair in Pinxton.

The patrols were carried out to help ensure safety for revellers and prevent anti-social behaviour at the event which took place between Thursday, September 25 and Saturday, September 27.

They included Derbyshire County Council’s South Normanton Multi-Agency Team, youth workers, Bolsover District Council CAN Rangers, Pinxton Parish Council and St. John’s Ambulance.

PCSO Marion Jeffery of the South Normanton and Pinxton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “The event took place at Wharf Road recreation ground, and again turned out to be really popular.

“It is important to us to ensure that young people can enjoy themselves safely and this was an excellent example of how partnership agencies can work together within the communities they serve to help reduce anti-social behaviour.”

The parents of those young people found with alcohol will be receiving anti-social behaviour warning letters, and could face further action should they be caught with alcohol in public for a second time.
