Chesterfield officers host a town centre crime prevention day

Posted on 16th December 2014

Safer Neighbourhood officers will be teaming up to host a crime prevention day for shoppers in Chesterfield Town Centre.

PCSO John Lockwood will be working alongside the community safety team from the British Transport Police to offer advice around staying safe and personal security over the festive period.

The officers will be heading into the town centre throughout the day on Thursday, December 18.

Shoppers and passers-by are invited to visit the mobile police station between 10am and 3pm to pick up crime prevention advice to boost their security over Christmas and New Year.

PCSO John Lockwood from the Chesterfield Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “We will be visiting the town centre throughout the day on Thursday to offer crime prevention and security advice to help you to stay safe in the run up to Christmas.

“We will be fitting free purse chains and will be on hand to answer any concerns that you may have about protecting your property and valuables over the festive season.

“I will be joined by officers from the British Transport Police who will also be offering advice around personal security and looking after your valuables whilst on your daily commute.

“We hope to see many people there.”
