Appeal after a cat is thought to have been injured deliberately in Chesterfield

Police are appealing for information after it was believed a cat was injured deliberately in Chesterfield.

The ginger tom, called Red, was found in a neighbour’s garden on Foljambe Road in distress at around noon on Saturday, June 21.

He had last been seen by his owner at 9pm on Friday, June 20.

The cat was taken to the vet and found to be suffering from broken ribs and internal bleeding. It is thought his injuries were caused by being kicked.

Enquiries are being carried out locally in the Foljambe Road and Alexandra Road West area.
