Appeal after five shop windows are damaged in Chesterfield

Posted on 4th January 2016

Police are appealing for information after five shop windows were damaged in Chesterfield during December.

Windows and doors were smashed to Wallace Arnold on Knifesmithgate, and the Full Monty Hair Salon, Market Place Fish and Chips, and Peacocks Coffee Bar, all on Market Place, sometime between 5pm on Thursday, December 17 and 9am on Friday, December 18 2015.

A window to Age Concern, on Cavendish Street, was also smashed sometime overnight between Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12 2015.

PCSO Adele Chapman-Jones of the Chesterfield Town Centre Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “This damage is very distressing for the local shop owners, who are upset that their businesses have been targeted. It also creates a really poor impression of our town centre.

“I would urge anyone who may have seen anything suspicious around these times, or if they know anything about the incidents, to contact us.”

Anyone with information should contact Derbyshire police on 101, the non-emergency number, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
