Police cadets host crime prevention and fundraising event in Chesterfield town centre

Posted on 19th February 2018

Our police cadets are holding a crime prevention and safety event in Chesterfield town centre this week.

They have teamed up with officers from the Chesterfield Town Centre Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team, and our Digital PCSO, James Land, to offer shoppers the chance to pick up advice on a wide range of issues, from personal and home security, to cyber and online safety.

The group are also fundraising, and will be helping little ones make their own fingerprint keyrings try on parts of a police uniform, as well as selling sweet treats.

Any donations will be split between Safe and Sound and the Chesterfield Police Cadet Unit.

Safe and Sound is a charity which works to keep children and young people safe and sound from sexual exploitation. They provide support directly to children, young people and families in Derbyshire and Derby affected by the abuse and work to ensure that individuals receive the support they need to move forwards in their lives.

The event will take place in Unit 4 (the old Vision Express store) on Vicar Lane between 10am and 3pm on Thursday, February 22.
