Residents will be seeing a new face on the beat as the latest PC joins Chesterfield North Safer Neighbourhood Team.
PC Emma McGovern has been working alongside her colleagues to patrol the beat areas of Newbold and Brockwell, and Dunston, Moor and St Helens since joining the team earlier this year.
Emma has already been heading out into the local community, introducing herself and offering crime prevention advice to residents and business owners.
PC Emma McGovern from the local policing team said: “Since taking on the role in August 2014, I have been getting to know residents and local business owners at a number of community events in the area.
“I have hosted a series of surgeries to allow local people to air any concerns with myself and the rest of the team in a relaxed setting away from the station.
“I have also worked alongside partner agencies to tackle issues such as anti-social and nuisance behaviour.
“I am really looking forward to holding future community events to help combat the issues that really matter to local people.”
Before taking on the role as a Safer Neighbourhood officer, Emma has previously worked as a section response officer when she joined Derbyshire Constabulary in 2004.
Emma joined Derbyshire Constabulary in 2004 and worked as a section response officer for 10 years. She then took on the role of Safer Neighbourhood officer and will be working alongside Sergeant Lee Jones, PC Simon Duddles, PCSO Janis Naylor and PCSO Thomas Dunn.
