Drivers in Hollingwood urged to be vigilant after recent incidents

Posted on 21st May 2015

Drivers in the Hollingwood area are being encouraged to be vigilant after a number of vehicles were damaged.

A man was reportedly seen kicking and elbowing wing mirrors on Sycamore Road in the early hours of the morning on Friday, May 15.

PC Adam Case from the Hollingwood, Inkersall and Duckmanton Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “I would like to take this opportunity to encourage motorists in the area to be vigilant and to park in well-lit areas, including using driveways or garages where possible.

“I am urging anyone who may have information about the incident to get in touch using the non-emergency number for Derbyshire police, 101.”

Other crime prevention advice includes:

• Closing wing mirrors in at night and when parked up;

• Making sure windows are up and that the vehicle is properly secure;

• Installing alarm systems to vehicles in a bid to deter this type of crime.
