Posted on 4th September 2014

Police in the Birdholme area of Chesterfield are appealing for information to help trace a man on a mobility scooter who helped a girl on Bacon’s Lane.

It is in relation to an incident between 7.30pm and 8pm on Sunday, August 31 where a man, driving a four-dour silver car, allegedly spoke to an 11-year-old girl at the junction of Bacon’s Lane and Birdholme Crescent.

The girl felt frightened by the man, and ran to a grey-haired man on a mobility scooter who was passing at the time. The man on the mobility scooter is believed to have told the car driver to leave.

Officers would like to speak to the man to see if he has any more information that would assist the investigation into what happened.

Anyone with information should contact PCSO Judith Cornwall of the Holmebrook and Rother Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team by calling 101.
