A new Sergeant has taken over the reins of the Safer Neighbourhood policing which covers Dunston, Whittington Moor, St. Helens, Newbold, Holme Hall, Linacre Woods and Brockwell.
Sgt. Lee Jones, who has been a police officer for more than 10 years, is now in charge of the Dunston, Moor and St. Helen’s and the Newbold and Brockwell Safer Neighbourhood policing teams.
Lee has spent his entire policing career, which started in 2004, as a response police officer until he was promoted in 2008.
He has since been a Sergeant for the response teams, and has worked in Chesterfield, Clay Cross and Dronfield.
Sgt. Jones said: “Although it is a new role and new style of policing for me, I do know the area quite well having worked in the area for most of my career.
“Our main focus will be to address the concerns of local residents, and to target the issues which matter to them as well as continuing to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.”
He added: “It’s important we know about local issues, because once we are aware then we can work to make a difference, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.”
