Youngsters in the Chesterfield area are being invited to take part in a series of free springtime Extreme Wheels events in Loundsley Green.
They are being held on Friday evenings between 6pm and 8pm at Loundsley Green Community Centre, from Friday, March 10 to Friday, March 31.
Extreme Wheels indoor sessions offer the chance for young people to take part in activities such as Laser Tag, Slacklining, Fly bars, Ezy Rollers or to just ‘chill out’.
There will also be visits from Keelan Philips, Multiple BMX Flatland Champion, and Adam Morewood, the current under 15 UCI World, BIU European and British Champion.
Youth United Derbyshire will also be at the session on Friday, March 31. Youth United is a national network of organisations working to increase access to the opportunities offered to young people and aims to increase the number of young people engaged in their communities through cadet schemes.
In Derbyshire, the network is made up of the Scout Association; the Army Cadet Force, the Sea Cadets, the Boys’ Brigade, the Volunteer Police Cadets, the Fire Cadets and the RAF Air Cadets.
Sgt. Dave Harrison, of the Chesterfield Community Safety Partnership, said: "The Extreme Wheels Roadshows will bring lots of activities to the area during the next few weeks, and we hope there will be something to interest everyone.
“It will help provide youngsters with something to do, and an alternative to being out on the streets while perhaps trying new sports or learning new skills.”
The events have been organised by the Chesterfield Community Safety Partnership, and paid for by Derbyshire Constabulary and Chesterfield Borough Council.
Sessions are open to all 11 to 16 year olds and to take part youngsters need to have a parent or guardian complete a consent form, which are available at the sessions.
