Policing team take part in New Whittington's first village gala

Posted on 5th June 2014

Officers from the Whittington and Barrow Hill Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team took part in the first village gala for New Whittington on bank holiday Sunday.

They spent time talking to local residents and brought the Mobile Police Station along to the popular event, organised by New Whittington Community Association.

The event, which was organised following the success of the jubilee celebrations in New Whittington in 2012, also included a parade, stalls and rides for the children.

PCSO Sheila Rooksby of the Whittington and Barrow Hill Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “It was great to be invited along as part of the community for such a lovely local event.

“We spoke to many people and it was fantastic to see residents and school children taking part in something which brought the whole community together.”
