Ashbourne police appeal for information following alleged assault

Police investigating an alleged assault in Ashbourne are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A man was walking along Dig Street in Ashbourne on Saturday, January 24 at 2am, when an altercation took place between him and another man.

The victim was punched in the head before a number of other offenders on the street became involved.

The incident resulted in the 36-year-old victim being taken to the Royal Derby Hospital for treatment after suffering from swelling and cuts to the face, and a bite to his ribs.

Anyone with any information about the alleged assault is urged to contact PC Daniel Brooks on 101, quoting crime number 3280/15.
