Appeal after dog is injured in Ashbourne

Posted on 3rd April 2017

We are appealing for information following an incident involving a dog in Ashbourne Town Centre.

At around 4.45pm on Thursday, March 30, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier was tied up outside Lloyds Bank on Compton, Ashbourne whilst the owner went inside.

As the owner was at the counter, they heard their dog yelping and ran out to see it dragging its legs in pain.

PC Rachel Baggaley from the town’s Safer Neighbourhood team said: “We are appealing to anyone with information about the incident to get in touch so that we can establish what has happened to the dog, particularly a woman with blonde hair who was with a young boy who may have witnessed the incident.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Rachel Baggaley on 101, or by sending her a message online here
