Retailers in Ashbourne are being invited along to a training day later this week to help boost security and tackle shoplifting.
Officers from the town’s Safer Neighbourhood team will be supporting the event, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, to help to raise awareness of scams and deter shoplifters through increased security. This follows reports over recent weeks of thefts taking place at stores across the town.
The retail training session is set to take place on Thursday, March 9 between 2pm and 4pm at Ashbourne Town Hall on Market Place.
The session is all about raising awareness of how to increase security in the store to deter shoplifters, ringing the changes scams, and also what we look for from retail staff, such as reporting suspicious activity.
