Free Friday football sessions aim to score a hit with Bakewell youngsters

Posted on 2nd August 2013

Police in Bakewell will be lacing up their boots for a series of free football sessions aimed at giving kids an extra activity over the summer holidays.

The free sessions are open to males and females aged 11 to 18 and will be held at Bakewell Recreation Ground every Friday night, from 6pm to 8pm.

They kick off on August 16 and will run for six weeks and the final whistle will be blown on Friday, September 20.

Officers from Bakewell Safer Neighbourhood Team will be joining in with the scheme, which has been organised by the Derbyshire Dales Community Safety Partnership. This includes Derbyshire Dales District Council, Dales Housing, the local CVS and police.

The football sessions will be led by coaches from the Derbyshire Dales and attended by the local policing team.

For more information, call PCSO Jonathan Taylor at Bakewell police station on 101 or Derbyshire Dales District Council on 01629 761380.
