Bakewell officers appeal for information following alleged assault

Police investigating an alleged assault in Bakewell are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

At around 10.15pm on Wednesday, February 25, a man was walking home along the footpath connecting Yeald Road and Butts Road in Bakewell when he was approached by a man asking for money.

As he replied that he had no money and continued on his way, he was pushed forcefully to the floor.

The 60-year-old victim suffered a cut to his eye and a grazed forehead during the incident.

The offender was described as white, 5ft 10ins tall, well-built with closely cropped hair. He was said to be wearing a bomber-style jacket, blue jeans and spoke with a local accent.
