Inspector Dave Nash
Inspector for this area

The Derbyshire Dales Local Policing Unit incorporates most of the Peak District National Park, from Hathersage in the north to Sudbury in the south, with many rural villages scattered in between.

I am Inspector Dave Nash and I am responsible for policing the Derbyshire Dales Local Policing Unit, covering areas such as Ashbourne, Bakewell, Matlock and Tideswell.

I hold more than 25 years of policing service and during this time I have worked at Bakewell, Matlock and Ashbourne as both a PC and a sergeant.

I have a good understanding of the areas, the issues that affects it, and also what local people are concerned about, including rural crime, violent crime, drug misuse, and anti-social behaviour.

I believe that a strong relationship between the police and local community is vital. I intend to continue with the good work of my predecessor, working with our partners and communities to build even safer neighbourhoods.

This local policing unit has a positive policing style with a commitment to delivering a high-quality policing service to the people who live in the Derbyshire Dales.

The fact is that the Derbyshire Dales is one of the lowest crime areas in the country and my aim is to keep it that way.
