An annual campaign to help Derbyshire Dales residents protect their homes from crime during the darker nights heads out on the roads this week.
Operation Illuminate is a scheme in which cut-price home security items such as timer switches for indoor lights, security lamps and alarms are available to buy.
Police officers and staff from Derbyshire Dales District Council will be heading out across the area to offer the goods.
It will be stationed at:
The Crofts, Hathersage, from 10am to 7pm on Monday, September 23;
Various locations around Ashbourne, including Fenny Bentley, Alsop-en-le-Dale and Parwich, throughout the day on Tuesday, September 24;
The Starkholmes area of Matlock throughout the day on Wednesday, September 25;
Pot Market, Tideswell, from 10am to 7pm on Thursday, September 26;
The Darley Dale area of Matlock until mid-afternoon and Ashbourne until the late-evening on Friday, September 27.
On Thursday, October 3, officers will be selling the items from Bradwell community police station, in Netherside, Bradwell, from 9am to 5pm.
The reduced cost items are aimed at deterring burglars by boosting security at homes across the Dales.
As well as the goods, officers will be holding property and bicycle marking events in the area over the next few months.
The Operation is being led by Derbyshire Dales Community Safety Partnership, which includes police and Derbyshire Dales District Council.
