Man charged following theft from Calver store

A 39-year-old man has been charged in connection with theft following an incident at a store in Calver.

At around 4.30pm on Wednesday, October 1, a man entered the Spar shop in Calver Sough and allegedly placed packets of meat into his rucksack. The offender then left the store without offering payment for the groceries.  

Paul Ayres was arrested on suspicion of theft following the incident.

Ayres (39) of no fixed abode was charged with theft and appeared before Magistrates in Chesterfield on Thursday, October 2.
