Posted on 11th December 2014

Police are appealing for information following a non-dwelling burglary in Grindleford.

Building materials, a Genie Cherry Picker and a quantity of lead were stolen after offenders entered onto the building site at a property in Grindleford, and forced through the door of the main house.

The incident took place overnight between 4.30pm on Wednesday, December 10 and 7am on Thursday, December 11.

Residents are being urged to remain vigilant and to report suspicious activity to police to help to stop a crime from happening.

Officers are also encouraging people to be security conscious, especially in the run up to Christmas. Ensure that sheds, garages and outbuildings are properly secure and that valuable items are kept out of view from passers-by.

Finally, consider marking up tools with a property marking fluid such as Smart Water to help deter thieves and enable police to return any stolen items to you.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call PCSO Anthony Boswell on 101 quoting crime number 52275/14, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
