Man arrested in connection with stealing a vehicle in Hope Valley

A man has been arrested in connection with stealing and crashing a vehicle in the Hope Valley area.

Police received reports that a vehicle had been taken without consent from the Nags Head car park on Grindsbrook Booth in Edale on Sunday, June 8.

The black coloured Fiat Panda was later found to have crashed and been abandoned close to High Peak Garden Centre on Hope Road, Bamford. Officers searched the vehicle and a quantity of suspected cannabis was found.

Following police enquiries, a 21-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent and the possession of Class B drugs.

The man has been bailed pending further investigations.
