Officers from the Hathersage Safer Neighbourhood Team have been teaming up with local businesses to help secure funding for youth clubs in the area.
PCSO Anthony Boswell from the local policing team spoke to Janet Bailey of Bakewell Events about the benefits of youth clubs and how they make a positive contribution to local villages.
Following this, Janet awarded youth clubs in Bradwell, Eyam and Grindleford with a cash boost of £50 each to help fund additional activities and buy new equipment for all its attendees.
Michelle Bingley from the Grindleford Youth Club said: "Generous donations from private groups are greatly appreciated by the young people who attend regularly the club.
"This donation will help towards the funding of activities such as archery, rugby, canoeing and the provision of a climbing wall this term. These diverse activities help the young people to develop important skills to help them grow into confident, team players in adult life"
PCSO Anthony Boswell from the Hathersage Safer Neighbourhood Team added: "It's great to see private businesses helping to fund community youth groups and provide new activities for the attendees to go on. Without this support the youth clubs can struggle which leaves young people without somewhere to hang out with their friends in a safe environment."
