Police appeal following vehicle break-ins in Stoney Middleton

Officers from the Hathersage Safer Neighbourhood Team are appealing for information following thefts in the Hope Valley.

Between 2.30pm and 4.45pm on Saturday, May 9, offenders smashed the window of a vehicle that was parked at Furness Quarry in Stoney Middleton Dale.

Thieves searched the Volkswagen Golf and stole a rucksack containing clothing, a Leatherman penknife, and a first aid kit from within.

On the same afternoon, offenders smashed the window of a blue Vauxhall Corsa that was also parked at the quarry. Cash, a Garmin Sat-Nav and a pair of Karrimor walking boots were taken.

Anyone with any information about either incident is asked to contact PCSO Anthony Boswell on 101, quoting crime number 19406/15.
