Information appeal after farm animals were killed in Hope Valley

Police are appealing for information after a sheep and two chickens were killed in Hope Valley.

Sometime between 8pm on Monday, January 5 and 10.30am on Saturday, January 10, offenders entered a chicken shed at a property in Edge Lane, Bradwell and killed two of the chickens inside. (CR/ 1372/15)

Overnight between 9am on Thursday, January 1 and 1pm on Sunday, January 4, a sheep was stolen from a field along Sheffield Road in Hathersage.

The carcass of the animal was later found in a nearby field, with the meat stolen. (CR/550/15)

PCSO Anthony Boswell from the Hathersage Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “These are callous acts to the farm animals which have caused distress to the victims.

“I would urge anyone who may have any information about either of the above incidents to contact us on 101, or report it to Crimestoppers, anonymously, so that we can bring those responsible to justice.”
