Football pitch damage in Baslow and Stoney Middleton sparks police appeal

Police are appealing for information after motorists damaged sports fields in Baslow and Stoney Middleton.

Sometime overnight between Thursday, October 27 and Friday, October 28, vandals drove onto the Baslow and Stoney Middleton Sports Fields and tore up the ground, leaving tracks. Damage was also caused to newly installed goal posts and nets at Baslow.

The damage has resulted in matches for both Stoney Middleton FC and Baslow FC to be cancelled.

The area’s Safer Neighbourhood officers are urging anyone with information, or may know of those responsible, to get in touch.
