Longford residents are invited to get their hands on cut-price home security kits as officers head out on the road for Operation Illuminate.
PCSO's Gemma Darby and Jo Dales from the local Safer Neighbourhood team will be visiting the village as part of the campaign to help people to safeguard their property from criminals.
The annual drive, which is led by Derbyshire Dales Community Safety Partnership, sees police officers and council staff heading out into local communities to advise residents about crime prevention.
The team will be visiting Longford between 11am and 3pm on Saturday, May 2 to offer discounted security items to people living in the neighbourhood.
Residents will be able to pick up home security kits including 'dusk til dawn bulbs', timers and door chimes with prices starting at just £1.
Officers are also urging residents to take steps to further protect themselves and their property from opportunists following recent burglaries in the area.
This includes ensuring that windows and doors are locked when you leave the house or go to bed; valuable items are not left on display, and to always leave a light on if you are going out after dark.
