A campaign to help Derbyshire Dales residents protect their homes from burglars heads to Matlock Bath next week.
Officers from Matlock Bath, Cromford and Bonsall Safer Neighbourhood Team will be offering cut-price home security items during a visit on Tuesday, May 21.
Goods on offer include shed and garage alarms, security lights and outdoor lightbulbs, all of which can help deter burglars.
The operation, led by Derbyshire police and Derbyshire Dales District Council, aims to cut the number of house, shed and garage burglaries in the area.
PC Chad Fullerton, from the Safer Neighbourhood team, said: "Burglars will target any property that they think will be unguarded so by investing in some low-cost items, you can help protect your home from them.
"The items we will be offering are fantastic pieces of crime prevention kit and the discounts mean that it's an offer local residents should definitely take up."
Officers from the team will be joined by staff at the district council at Matlock Bath throughout the day on Tuesday. Prices start from £1.
Councillor Lewis Rose OBE, Derbyshire Dales District Council leader and chairman of the Derbyshire Dales Community Safety Partnership said: “Operation Illuminate continues to make an impact in our communities and is another excellent example of the partnership initiatives that help to maintain the Dales’ status as one of the safest places to live, work and visit in the whole of the UK.”
