The Rural Crime Team and Villager Jim have teamed up to decide the top countryside snaps that were kindly sent in by Derbyshire residents.
Last month, PCs Andy Shaw and James Bowler asked for residents to send over their best countryside, beauty spots and wildlife snaps to be used in their new rural crime prevention booklet and on the force website.
PC Andy Shaw from the Rural Crime Team said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who sent a photograph in to us. We have been inundated with some fantastic photographs of the beautiful countryside here in Derbyshire.
“I would also like to thank Villager Jim who took time out to help us to select the best photos, we were very lucky to have had his expert eye to help decide the top three.”
Villager Jim added: “I was so happy to be involved in this for a few reasons. The police do such a brilliant job and are almost always taken for granted, so when asked if I would judge I considered it an honour.
“There we so many wonderful entries it really was quite difficult choosing but all three of the finalist had images that stood out a country mile. The winning photo just kept me coming back to look and look as it seemed so full of atmosphere, making me ask questions in my mind so it truly was a special one for me that hit a chord, which is what I believe a great image should do.”
