Pair charged with theft after a pushchair was taken from Matlock attraction

A man and woman have been charged with theft in connection with a children’s pushchair that was taken from a Matlock tourist attraction.

It is alleged that the pushchair was taken from the Heights of Abraham between 2.30pm and 3.30pm on Saturday, August 3.

David Haines, 41, of Stockhill Lane and 37-year-old Sarah Deakin, 37, of Breckhill Road, Woodthorpe were charged with theft on Thursday, January 2.

They were arrested following enquiries and local patrols by officers from the Matlock Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team.

The pair, from the Nottingham area, appeared before magistrates in Chesterfield on Friday, January 17.
