Residents in Matlock, Darley Dale and the surrounding villages are set to see a new face on the beat as PC Tammy Chapman joins the team.
Since joining Derbyshire Constabulary in 2002, Tammy has served as a response officer in both the High Peak and Derbyshire Dales, before joining the Vulnerable Persons Unit in Buxton in 2013.
PC Tammy Chapman will be working alongside Sergeant Andy Wordsworth, PC Gary Ferguson and PCSOs Spencer Nixon and Karl Millward on the Matlock Safer Neighbourhood Team, along with teaming up with PC Ferguson and PCSO Sue Lester to cover the Darley Dale, Winster, Wensley and Elton beat. PC Chapman will also spend time assisting colleagues on neighbouring Safer Neighbourhood patches.
PC Tammy Chapman from the Matlock Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “I am really pleased to have joined the Safer Neighbourhood team to police the communities of Matlock, Darley Dale, and surrounding villages.
“After working as a response officer in the Derbyshire Dales I do know the area well, but I am looking forward to heading out in the community over the coming months to meet with residents and local business owners.
“I look forward to speaking with local residents to discuss any issues that they may have and the ways in which we, as the police, can tackle them and make improvements to the area.
“The Derbyshire Dales is a safe place to live and with the help of the community and our partners we can continue to work together to make it even better.”
