Residents are being invited to learn more about the Neighbourhood Watch scheme at upcoming seminars this autumn.
The events, which are being held in Bakewell and Derby, are designed to give people a further insight into the scheme and what it can bring to the local community.
National awards will also be presented during the evening and residents will be able to speak to officers and Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinators about the steps that they can take to further protect themselves from crime.
This will include information around increasing home and vehicle security, along with advice on protecting yourself from fraudsters as part of the Stamp out Fraud in Derbyshire initiative.
The events will be held in Derby and Bakewell and will run from 7pm until 9.30pm, with a 6.30pm arrival. The dates and locations are as follows:
- Thursday, September 25 at The Rutland Arms Hotel on The Square, Bakewell;
- Wednesday, October 8 at the YMCA on London Road, Derby.
You do not have to be a member of a Neighbourhood Watch group to attend the events and light refreshments will be provided.
