Stanton and Youlgreave Flagg Nursery visit- May 17

Youngsters at a nursery in Flagg had a special visit from their local PCSO, who spoke to them about staying safe and the work of the police.

PCSO Anthony Boswell of the Stanton, Youlgreave and White Peak Villages Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team spent time with the pre-school children at Flagg Nursery School on Tuesday, May 9.

The youngsters were also given a chance to try on an officer’s protective clothing and uniform, and take a look at the equipment they carry.

PCSO Boswell said: "I spent time meeting the children at Flagg Nursery School, which will hopefully help to give them confidence in talking to police officers and people in uniform, as well as a chance to take a closer look at our uniform and equipment.

“The talk also covered issues such as stranger danger and road safety, which I hope will help keep them safe as they grow older.”

Officers from our local Safer Neighbourhood teams make regular visits to schools to engage with youngsters.
