New PC heads out on the beat in the Hope Valley

Posted on 6th March 2015

Residents in the Hope Valley are set to see a new face on the beat as PC Wolverson joins the team.

PC Simon Wolverson will be teaming up with Sergeant Andy Wordsworth and PCSO Anthony Boswell on the Hathersage Safer Neighbourhood Team. He will also be working alongside PCSO Ian Phipps to cover the Safer Neighbourhood communities of Tideswell, Litton, Baslow and Beeley.

Since joining Derbyshire Constabulary in 1999, Simon has served in both reactive and Safer Neighbourhood roles across the county including in Mackworth, Allestree, Chaddesden, Swadlincote, St Mary’s Wharf, Ashbourne and Matlock.

PC Wolverson also passed his sergeants exams in 2012 and has since performed in management roles for the force.

PC Wolverson, who will be based at Bakewell Police Station, said: “Working in the Hathersage and Tideswell Safer Neighbourhood areas will bring different challenges to those of my previous roles around Derby City Centre.

“Growing up in a farming community, I understand the issues faced by rural residents and hope to work alongside the public to tackle concerns that matter to them and deliver a quality service.

“Alongside the day to day tasks of the Safer Neighbourhood teams I am hoping to work on projects to tackle rural and wildlife crime and other criminality.”
