Land Rover and quad bike owners in Baslow are being encouraged to get their security into gear at a property marking drive next week.
PCSO's Ian Phipps and Anthony Boswell from the Tideswell and Hathersage Safer Neighbourhood Team are set to host a free security marking event on Thursday, June 25 as part of a crime prevention initiative.
The event will take place between 5pm and 7pm in the Baslow Sports Field Pavilion carpark, to encourage 4x4 and quad bikes owners to protect their property from thieves.
Safer Neighbourhood officers will be on hand throughout the evening to security mark the vehicles for free with SmartWater.
SmartWater is a forensic based security marking fluid that can be used on property from bikes, electrical items and jewellery to help deter criminals.
Marking items with security kits such as SmartWater can improve the chances of police returning any items if they are stolen and then recovered.
PCSO Ian Phipps from the local policing team said: "We will be visiting the sports pavilion on Thursday evening to encourage motorists to take action against criminals by protecting their property.
"We will be on hand to chat to residents about any neighbourhood concerns that they may have, along with offering home security advice for the summer months. We look forward to seeing your there."
