Police appeal following Great Longstone church theft

Police are appealing for information after lead was stolen from a church in Great Longstone.

Between 11.45pm and midnight on Sunday, May 17, offenders stole a large quantity of lead from the roof of Saint Giles Church on Church Lane in Great Longstone.

As officers attended the scene, thieves ran and drove off in a nearby vehicle.

Officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood team are asking residents to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity following recent thefts from Derbyshire Dales churches.
